Picture it: your dream Bali wedding. A gorgeous ceremony, a white, islandy formal-but-still-beach-bum-chic dress, followed by dinner on the beach... surrounded by tourists with selfie-sticks.
Yup. That happened.
After a day in the surf, I decided to make my way to the popular Menega Seafood Cafe for some local fare on the beach. Finding a table in the sand, I made myself comfortable, ordered an ice bucket of beer and took in my surroundings.

Dinner with a view
Shortly therafter, down walks a gorgeous bride, still in her wedding dress, on the arm of her considerably underdressed groom donning a white linen top, khakis and flip-flops. Their wedding party? One other person, most likely the wedding planner, who upon arriving to their beach side table, shook their hands and headed off - clearly with something better to do.
The newlyweds enjoyed their sunset dinner on the beach, surrounded by the flashes of tourists with their self-sticks.

Selfie-sticks. Ugh.
As night fell, they even had their own light show - in the form of local beach peddlers showing off their wares of lazer pointers and glowing LED visors.
What wedding party is complete without selfie-sticks and lazer pointers?
Having said that, hell of a view:
