A Taste of Brighton in Nara

I arrived in Nara in the evening. I am staying in a gorgeous Japanese ryokan (traditional inn) owned by people who used to live in Brighton (and used to work at the Mash Tun, for those Brightonians out there reading this!). Talk about a small world. The ryokan is very traditional in that it has the paper sliding doors, amazing gardens and traditional Japanese-style tatami rooms. Interestingly enough, the entire structure was built without using a single nail, screw or power tool but instead the traditional Japanese architectural style of joinery.
